The Masters.

Are you 23 or older? Congratulations—you’re a Master!

The goal of the masters program at EBR is to offer opportunities for all levels of rowing for both men and women. We are always interested in expanding our team and welcoming new members. Whether you are looking to improve your fitness, enhance your rowing technique, compete in regattas or simply interested in enjoying time on the water,

East Bay Rowing is the place for you!

Our programs run on a seasonal schedule with offerings for brand new rowers, recreational rowers and competitive rowers. Rowers looking to compete have the opportunity to row in a variety of regattas each season. During our spring, summer and fall programs, we row on the Barrington River from Walker Farm in Barrington, RI. During the winter months, we offer group training indoors at EBR’s training facility in Warren, RI.

These programs already sound fantastic, but that’s not all! East Bay Rowing has to offer our adult rowers! Building camaraderie is important to us. Having fun together on and off the water is important to us. Through regularly scheduled, low key socials and fun events we strive to make EBR a home for everyone.

EBR Program Offerings

Want to row with East Bay Rowing but aren’t quite sure where to start?

Indoor Training: A perfect place to learn the rowing movement OR work on your strength and fitness. Classes welcome all skill levels!

Learn to Row on the water: Learn the stroke on a stable boat with a coach! Sweep with (one oar per person) on the barge or scull (two oars per person) in a zephyr. Program offerings depend on the season, registration numbers, and coaching capacity.

General Sweeps: Looking to get on the water, get in a good workout, AND do it all with a great group of people? Hop into a mixed sweep boat. Previous rowing experience is required (at least EBR’s Learn to Row or its equivalent).

Intermediate Sculling: For scullers that are looking to get some coaching during their on-the-water workouts. There are singles sessions and quad sessions. Rowers must have participated in at least a LTR program on a zephyr.

Competitive Sweeps: Want to take your rowing skills on the road for some racing? This program practices together in Mens, Womens, and Mixed line ups to compete beyond Walker Farm and train together with like-minded racers. Must have at least participated in a general sweep program or its equivalent.

Independent Rowing: For experienced scullers who are looking for a little more flexibility in their schedule. Hop in a single, double, or pair on your own time to make the most of the on-the-water seasons. Independent Rowing is an UNCOACHED session that you must test in to.

Reach out to the Director of Rowing if you want more information or have questions on which program has the right seat for you!
